What Is Seva?

The Siddha Yoga Meditation Center of Seattle is sustained by seva, or selfless service. Everything done at the center from sweeping the entry to washing the dishes and hosting satsangs is accomplished by those who volunteer at the Center to practice seva.  Participating in seva provides an opportunity to experience one's own inner love, and to share this great experience with the community.

Read more about seva at www.siddhayoga.org/practices/seva/seva.html.

The transformative practice of seva connects you to the community and is a powerful Siddha Yoga practice that can connect you to your own inner Self.  This practice is known in the Bhagavad Gita as karma yoga, and it shows us the way to turn our daily actions into worship.

What Seva Can I Do?
There are many seva opportunities currently available at the Center. Review the attached list to find a seva that fits your abilities and your schedule:  Current Seva Opportunities at SYMC-Seattle.

To indicate your interest in seva:
- email the Seva Coordinator at seva@symcseattle.org, or
- please add your name to the Contact Form at the base of the bulletin board in the Community Room, or
- call 206-417-7282 to leave a message for the Seva Coordinator.
